Apologizing to Mabiala Ma Nganga

In the beginning, Mabiala Ma Nganga was a humble and very intelligent young man. In the village where he lived, everyone talked about his alignment with the Kongo culture. The people of his region were very pleased with his actions for the well-being of the community. In the fields, his hard work drew admiration from his peers. His frankness brought everyone together in the realm of the Kingdom of Kongo.

But one day, the men of the great chief came to collect all the strong and young subjects; boys to go to war, to protect and save the motherland. To fight for the survival of the old empire, to battle for the new ancestors.

Mabiala Ma Nganga was informed by the oldest woman in the village, Ma Warika. He hid in the forest and in the caves of Ntari. In his hiding place, he vowed to train in the art of war. Nourished by the village girls in his hideout, the girls were privy to his existence.

For four seasons, Mabiala Ma Nganga trained in that cave, transformed into a true Kongo warrior. Now, he just needed to find students. Among those who went to war on the other side of the sea, very few returned. Many had suffered physical and mental scars, with the majority having lost limbs.

Informed of their situation, Mabiala, filled with anger, decided to take action, to resist and react to this chaotic situation. Seeing his world crumbling at his feet.

There he was in his Kila Tari cave, training a few young people for combat, launching resistance against the new white ancestors. The majority embraced his project, which became a matter of honor.

Through word of mouth, the people had found the leader of liberation. Women and artists composed songs in his honor. The echoes of his existence reached all the provinces of the former and the new kingdom. His strength in battle, his intelligence in the face of colonial maneuvers.

From generation to generation, his name is known.
