In the beginning, giants roamed the earth.
They were so big that if they ran out of table salt, they would cross the Carpathian mountains in only two steps to ask their neighbours for more salt. They had fortresses (Deva fortress) and churches (Densus church). One day, one of the little girl giants found two human people, a man and a woman, who were plowing the fields. Surprised, she put them in her palm and took them home. She told her parents - “I found two worms making holes in the ground”.
But her parents told her -”Go and put them back. They are not worms, but humans!
They will populate the earth after us, the giants, will no longer be here!” And that’s exactly how it was.
One day, the giants wanted to go up into the sky so they built a ladder by each going on the other’s shoulders until the one at the top grabbed the sky by its handles and shook it.
God, who was furious, gave a great flood and they all drowned. After the humans will disappear, God will bring really small people, so small that they will need a ladder to climb a plant. But these people will be very good and feed only on the holy spirit.
Their name is Blajini (they are more gentle/endearing than happy) or Rohmani.
Some legends say that Blajinii existed in the time of the giants, and exist in the time of the humans, but they live on an island outside of the world, after Apa Sambetei (which surrounds the earth and is the source where all the rivers flow to), close to Paradise.
